Family owned for 3 generations, Soljans stunning winery is located at the gateway to Kumeu Wine Country - Auckland's heritage wine region that is hugely popular with locals and visitors from Auckland, New Zealand and around the world. Few wineries in New Zealand can claim such a proud winemaking history as Soljans Estate Winery.

Bartul Soljan planted the first Soljan vineyard in New Zealand in 1932 leaving a legacy that has been carried on by his son Frank and then grandson and current owner, Tony Soljan. Today, Soljans represents three generations of winemaking with over 70 years experience.

In 2002 Tony put his own stamp on the family winemaking heritage by realising a lifelong dream to build his own winery. The state of the art winery complex located in Kumeu, West Auckland is the realisation of that dream. Tony's long and distinguished service to the New Zealand wine industry was recognized in 1999 when he was made a fellow of the Wine Institute of New Zealand, an honour bestowed on only 16 people since its inception.

What makes Soljans wines taste so good? By skillfully marrying traditional with modern techniques, we produce stylish, richly flavoured wines. Most of the white wines are cool-fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve their very delicate aromas and flavours. To enhance their complexity and richness, our chardonnay's are fermented and matured in oak barriques and the red wines are also barrel-aged.
